Blogging Curiousity

There is a clustrmap on my blog that I placed there based on some of the other blogs where I had first seen them. I thought it looked like a cool tool and was interested in whether or not anyone was hitting my blog.

Now that I've seen my clustrmap grow and change over just the last month, I'm curious. My map shows me generally where you are in the world and the data tells me how many times my blog has been visited but that's not the kind of specific information I'd like to gather.

I'd like to be able to talk to teachers about blogging and show them the results of my blogging since August 10, 2006 to give them an idea of the audience that's possible with this type of tool. So, I'm keeping this message at the top of my blog for a little while and asking any readers of this blog, even if this the first and possibly only time you'll be here, to do this:

Please leave a comment to this posting letting me know exactly where you're located (country, state, province, city), how you came to find this blog in the first place and what your job is. Thanks for helping me with this. I'll see what I get after about two weeks and then post the results here for anyone else who might find it interesting or useful to you.

I am a Curriculum Technology Partner from Grand Forks, North Dakota in the USA. It is my job to work with classroom teachers and design curriculum projects that integrate technology. I believe that my first visit to your blog was a couple of weeks ago at the beginning of the school year when David Warlick posted a link to your blog.

Hi Diane,

I learned of your blog from one of your comments on my blog as well as reading some of your comments on Dave's 2 Cents.

I am located in Pasadena, CA USA and am a technology consultant.

BTW - I have been trying to add your blog to my bloglines feeds but you don't have a handy chicklet to click. Yes, I was being lazy and eventually added it manually. Just a suggestion.

Thanks for you comments and posts.

Cheers,
ROB

Hi Diane - I live and work in Scotland and came across your blog via a link from I can't remember where, but almost certainly another blog on education and technology. I also have a link to your blog on my site.

Until recently I ran a big programme here in Scotland called SSDN, recently renamed 'Glow' in anticipation of the arrival of the national intranet in every school in the country over the next year - I have moved on to another role with my organisation, Learning and Teaching Scotland, as a 'Learning Futures Strategist'.

I've enjoyed reading your blog!

Meant to add, Diane - you may already do so, but if not you might want to look at a service such as StatCounter (http://www.statcounter.com/) - which I use - or Google Analytics to give you much more info on visitors to your blog. They are both free services (and there are lots of others to choose from).

Thanks to those who have left comments here so far. It's interesting to see the interconnections that can be built among blogs and bloggers.
Thanks to Rob and John for your suggestions on tools to add here. I'll get there eventually - web 2.0 is still learning in progress for me...something new everyday!
